After 46 years of being in a committed relationship, Lewis Duckett and Billy Jones sealed the deal at New York’s Riverside Church. It’s about time!
After spending 46 years of my life with someone, I would be more than ready to make it official.
“For most of our 46 years together, I don’t know where I stop and he begins — it’s been that kind of blending,” Jones confessed to the New York Times.
This adorable couple has been together since the time of the Vietnam War, in a society that was not nearly as accepting of gay people as they are today. Jones and Duckett even had to write in code in their “Dear John” letters, because of their fear of being harassed.
I’m happy to say that they are officially wed, and can’t wait to continue to hear more successful love stories just like theirs.
