Where Church And Hate Shouldn’t Meet

Article: http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/pa-pastor-facing-church-trial-gay-marriage-20916701

“A Pennsylvania pastor charged under United Methodist law with officiating his son’s same-sex marriage is scheduled to go on trial.”

This is an absolute outrage. Banning same-sex marriage has already been deemed unconstitutional. I don’t recall ever being more offended in my life. If I was the son of Reverend Frank Schaefer, I would want my father to officiate my wedding.

The interesting part about this “trial” is that it will be held at the church’s retreat.

Another problem with their argument is that he officiated the wedding ceremony in 2007. Get over it, people!

There are so many other things in this world that should be focused on.

This is not a good representation of how God says in the Bible to treat people fairly.

I’m disappointed by this specific situation. For others who have faced or are facing the same situation, I am utterly sorry.

“We’re Gonna Treat Some Citizens In Our Country Differently Than Other Citizens”

Feast your eyes and ears on this. Open your heart to this young man as he makes his argument.

My friend Hank here on YouTube has a few fair points. These are some invalid arguments about gay marriage that should be rebuked.

#1: Why can’t gay people just be committed withoutmarriage?

Hello, if some people can get married, than all people should get married.

#2: God.

It’s true that not everyone has a religion. This is not a freedom of religion expression.

#3: The Bible

I read the Bible. I believe in the Bible; however, the Bible is NOT a legal document. Has anyone forgotten about the Separation of Church and State?

#4: Gay Marriage Would Undermine the Institution of Marriage

Do you know how many heterosexual married couples get divorced? Too many. My argument is that they are ruining the sanctity of marriage, not gay people.

#5: It’s Unnatural

What? If you think it’s unnatural, then don’t marry someone that’s of your same gender. No one’s forcing you to marry a man if you are a man or forcing you to marry a woman if you are a woman.

Just remember, if you continue to not allow gay marriage, they will marry your girlfriends. 🙂

The Alan Ross Texas Freedom Parade

Today was the 30th annual Alan Ross Texas Freedom Parade in Dallas, TX.

I took a trip home this weekend, so this event was a big deal

The church I go to in Dallas when I am home celebrates people that are LGBT.

My pastor made a point in the sermon today that the words we speak when we induct new members into our church are “we will not act as though you have to earn your way in.” He made this point, because at my church and hopefully at others, people are admitted and accepted for who they are and as they are. (This is obviously referring to people who come from gay or lesbian or the like sexual orientations.)

Going home to this church was such a refreshment. I was raised to be accepting of all people. We are all God’s children. Being surrounded by church members that love all kinds of people was exactly where I wanted/needed to be. My church is not the only one of its kind.

But, during the sermon, my pastor took the time to talk about the Alan Ross Texas Freedom Parade. Many members of the church were wearing shirts that said “we believe in the separation of church and hate” today that they planned on wearing to this annual march. From young to old, many members of the congregation today were planning on making the trip to this march to celebrate the liberty of having different sexual orientations.

From what I read from this article posted in the Dallas Morning News, the parade was a huge success. I hope I will be able to make it to the parade next year.

If this child of God can raise a flag, so can you!
